Baptism
Baptism incorporates us into the Church and gives us rebirth as sons and daughters of God. Through the Sacrament, we become members of the Church and receive the gift of eternal life.
In Baptism parents pledge to raise their children in the faith of the Roman Catholic Church and to journey along with them. Your child's baptism is a time for celebration and joy; and naturally, you want the best for your child.
We want to help you plan and prepare for the baptism in the best possible way.
Baptisms are scheduled for every other Sunday of each month at 1:30 pm.
A maximum of four children will be scheduled on a given Sunday.
The role of a Godparent is a serious one, being chosen is an honor. All Catholic Godparents are required to be confirmed! If you choose to have a Godparent from another faith, you must provide a baptism certificate. If a Catholic does not have the Sacrament of the Confirmation they are not eligible to serve as a Godparent. A Confirmation certificate is required for all Catholics who are confirmed. A child can not be baptized without a Confirmed Catholic.
The confirmed Catholic represents the Christian Catholic community, the Church. The other may be a Christian from another tradition, thereby being a Christian Witness (not a Godparent). Church law requires the Godparent to be at least 16 years of age (for maturity's sake).
Baptism forms may be obtained from the Rectory or click the link below. Donation Envelopes are in the packet ($100 suggested amount). Please fill out the paperwork and return it as soon as possible. Please note: Dates are not confirmed until the completed form is returned.
